Not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. These are starting documents for your own attorney to edit. They apply no law to your facts. No attorney has reviewed them for your state or your facts, and Olive is not your lawyer.
Where that line lives. It sits inside every packaged file, at the top of the document and in the footer of every page, not only on the page you downloaded the file from.
The grant. Olive grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to reproduce, adapt and use these documents for the purposes below.
What you may do. Download, edit, and use these documents. An organisation may use them internally, including in a paid engagement. One person may use them for themselves. An employer may hand an edited document to a candidate, and a candidate may keep and reuse the ones written for them. Attribution is not required for any of that, because a licence people break by default is worse than no licence.
What you may not do. Do not republish a document substantially unchanged as your own product or as part of a paid template library. Do not present an edited document as Olive's, and do not use the Olive name to suggest Olive reviewed your version.
What this licence does not cover. Copyright reaches expression, not a procedure, a method, or a legal requirement, and a blank form is outside it. Nothing here claims ownership of any obligation a law imposes on you.
Third-party material. Where a document quotes or builds on a source with its own terms, those terms travel with it. Check them before you republish.
What each file records. Every packaged file carries the date it was last checked, the sources it was checked against, and the version of the words inside it.
Term. This licence runs from the day you download a file until Olive withdraws it in writing. A withdrawal reaches new downloads and does not reach a document you have already edited into your own: keep using that one. Olive may stop publishing a document at any time, and a stop is not a withdrawal of this licence. A revision ships at a new version URL, and this one stays where it is with a banner naming its successor.
Termination. This licence ends for you if you do one of the things under "What you may not do" and do not stop within 30 days of a written notice.
Complaints. Write to hello@olive.is. A person reads every complaint and answers within ten working days, saying what was found and what changed. All concerns that Olive has engaged in the unauthorized practice of law are referred to the North Carolina State Bar, wherever the complaint came from.
This licence disclaims no warranty, caps no liability, waives no remedy, and names no court or state for a dispute. Those absences are deliberate.
