Confirm a link matches the text

For teachers and readers: paste the text on the link page to confirm it is the one that was checked.

Open the link, paste the text you were given into the box, and press Confirm.

It matches when it is the same words. Spacing, line breaks, letter case and curly or straight quotes do not matter. One changed word does.

The text you paste is compared with the fingerprint on the link. It is not shown to the person who made the link.

A link page can be confirmed up to 20 times an hour from one address.

What a match shows

That this exact text got the result on the page, on that date. It does not show who wrote it or how.

The mark is for words a person wrote, as handed in. Text rewritten by a humanizer does not qualify, even if a person wrote the first draft. Our detector does not catch every rewrite: in our tests it missed most rewrites by one tool.
