When a student hands in a verification link
Confirm a student’s verification link with one paste, or check a paper yourself and see the sentences behind the result.
What the verdicts mean
"Verified human" means the standard detector read the text as human. "Not verified" means the check could not confirm it, and the result shows the sentences and the reason. "Not scored" means there was not enough text to read: under 50 words there is no reading.
Confirm a link
Open the verification link the student sent and paste the text they handed in. It says whether this is the text that was checked. Spacing and case do not matter; a changed word does.
How confirming worksBefore you talk to the student
A flag should be reason to look closer and not verified proof of cheating. Read the marked sentences, then set them beside the student's drafts and earlier work before you decide what to ask.
What the numbers say
Our standard detector flagged 0 of 600 human-written papers in its release test (95% upper bound 0.50%), 1 of 549 held-out human papers, as Mixed (upper bound 0.86%), 5 of 9,305 real student essays, all as Mixed, none as AI, and missed 0 of 481 wholly machine-written held-out papers (upper bound 0.62%).
Students learning English
Our standard detector flagged 0 of 1,195 essays by learners of English, from one university English language program written 2005 to 2012, and our students detector, shown as a note, flagged 4 of the same 1,195. That is a count, not proof of fairness.
What it misses
It called 20 of 176 humanized AI papers human and, in a newer test of one humanizer tool, 231 of 255 rewritten long papers and 122 of 136 rewritten essays human, so a humanizer tool can get text past it. The mark is for words a person wrote, as handed in. Text rewritten by a humanizer does not qualify, even if a person wrote the first draft.
Short answers
Under 50 words there is no reading, so there is no result. From 50 to 149 words the reading is weak.
A stack of papers
With a school email you can check up to 50 papers a month free. Paste one paper at a time in the web app, or send papers with automation to our MCP server.
Student work
Our detector scores the text in memory and de-identifies any personal information for additional training.
